Gala Summer Bar-B-Q 2003

Shloime and Libby Dachs two of OHEL's most dedicated friends, and always available to place a smile on the faces of OHEL's children, were the hosts for the Second Annual OHEL Brooklyn Bar-B-Q. Sponsored by Fairmont Funding, the event attracted more than 100 of the Dachs' neighbors and friends who shared a dinner with more than 20 people with disabilities living in OHEL-Bais Ezra's homes in Flatbush. They heard Rabbi Dovid Goldwasser deliver inspiring words about the value of acts of Chesed for ourselves, our families and our community.

The backyard of OHEL's Hewlett residence home to eight men with developmental disabilities was filled for OHEL's first Long Island Bar-B-Q. Children and adults spent a few hours touring the new home, enjoying a delicious' dinner under the stars, and hearing Rabbi Paysach Krohn speak about, "Seizing Opportunities for Chesed." each child warmly and were visibly impressed by the youngsters' enthusiasm.
